- Priority Area 1: Youth Employment
Social Entrepreneurship Showcase
As the world looks forward to recovering from the pandemic, the youth should play a pivotal role in the recovery. If the youth are able to put themselves as an important stakeholder in the recovery, such as through their participation in social entrepreneurship and social enterprise, there is a huge opportunity for youth to not only create employment opportunities for themselves and their surroundings but, together with other stakeholders, also reshape the way the economy works and help to offer solutions to social problems, from sustainability to unemployment.
In order to achieve this, the growing youth-led social enterprises require appropriate ecosystems, frameworks, financial support, and other enablers. To support youth social enterprises, the Y20 Award wishes to recognize the effort that has been made by youth from all around the world in building social enterprises that creates impacts in their local as well as global communities. Please submit 1-3 minutes of video on your social entrepreneurship ideas/projects.

- Priority Area 2: Digital Transformation
Digital Financial Awareness Campaign
The rapid advancement of digital technology affects the youth and is mostly driven by them. In spite of the rapid digital transformation, however, 63 percent of global youth remain disconnected (UNICEF and ITU, 2020) and almost half of youth are currently financially excluded due to their limited understanding of finance. During the pandemic, 42 percent of youth-led firms in the Asia Pacific expressed fear that their business would permanently shut down because of the pandemic, mainly because of their limited access to financing (SDSN Youth, 2020). Being excluded from Digital Financial Service (DFS) is associated with a lack of awareness and knowledge. World Bank (2021) estimates that 59 percent of the financially excluded population in Indonesia never heard of the services, 45 percent did not understand its benefits, whilst 58 percent did not know how to use it. Due to this dismal awareness, the actual yield compared to the prophesied benefits of digital technology has been suboptimal. The Y20 Award wishes to recognize efforts that have been done around the world and on the ground to push this awareness especially in underserved areas, whilst encouraging the youths to step up their contribution to democratize access to DFS. Please submit a 1-3 minutes video presentation on how to improve digital financial awareness for youths (e.g. Payment, Digital Banking, Blockchain, etc).

- Priority Area 3: Sustainable Liveable Planet
We use a variety of products every day and we rely on nature to supply these products, such as food production, our water supply, and the various materials we consume. Unfortunately, our demands for goods and services far exceed the capacity of nature. We are overexploiting the earth’s resources and we are dumping waste excessively on our planet. This way of life brings about resource scarcity and pollution. We need to radically transform our economy into one that puts nature at the center and embraces the circular economy. The circular economy is an economy that 1) eliminates waste and pollution, 2) keeps materials in use for as long as possible, 3) regenerates nature.
Youths are often at the frontline as conscious consumers and could push for sustainable products, change markets, and transform the economy. Youths have even harnessed their talents and capacity for innovation towards a sustainable supply chain. They have seized the opportunity to promote behavioral change by guiding larger networks toward lifestyles that stay within the boundaries of planetary well-being.
Submit 1-3 minutes video/presentation about value chain mapping of a product of their choice and your idea on how to improve it to become more sustainable/circular
